Baseball Recap: De Anza Has No Trouble Against Salesian College Preparatory

De Anza not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 3, 2024 (when they won 11-0). They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Salesian College Preparatory Pride. This was a revenge game for the Dons: when they faced off against the Pride on Wednesday, they had to take a 6-5 loss.

Daniel Sheppard made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Jason Miles was incredible, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Ty Willson was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

De Anza's victory bumped their record up to 3-12-1. As for Salesian College Preparatory, they dropped their record down to 2-17 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road.

De Anza has already played their next match, an 8-4 loss against Pinole Valley on the 30th. As for Salesian College Preparatory, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-5 defeat against Saint Mary's on the 30th.
