Kennedy waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Iowa City Little Hawks a 9-0 shutout. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 10-2 victory the Little Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in July of 2019.

Kennedy's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Iowa City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Kennedy beat Iowa City by a score of 15-1 later that day.
