Softball Preview: Daniel Lions vs. Seneca Bobcats
The Daniel Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Seneca Bobcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Daniel has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Last Wednesday, it was close, but Daniel sidestepped West-Oak for a 9-8 victory. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.
Maddie Iams was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline McAlister, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Daniel was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .324 or higher in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Seneca never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past Travelers Rest 12-0. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.
Seneca has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Daniel, their record is now 8-9.
