Basketball Recap: Deer Isle-Stonington Takes a Loss

Deer Isle-Stonington lost against Sumner back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners had to suffer through a 60-25 loss at the hands of the Sumner Tigers. The Mariners just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Deer Isle-Stonington's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Sumner, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Deer Isle-Stonington and Bangor Christian will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sumner, they will face off against Calais at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sumner knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Calais likes a good challenge.
