Baseball Recap: Shadow Ridge Extends Winning Streak to Three

Shadow Ridge waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Denver South Ravens by a score of 4-1.

Zack Coots got the start for Shadow Ridge and what a start it was: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Coots has posted since back in April of 2025. Clay Brown picked up the save, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mason Manly, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. Emmitt Worthington was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Shadow Ridge's record now sits at 5-7. As for Denver South, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Shadow Ridge will host Douglas County at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Huskies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.8 runs per game on average), something the Stallions will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Denver South, they will take on Forest Grove in a tournament on Saturday.
