Football Recap: Buchholz Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Buchholz on Friday. They walked away with a 29-19 win over the Eastside Rams. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bobcats' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Rams are ranked 127th).

Chris Johnson had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 199 yards and one touchdown.

Johnson was just one part of a punishing run game: Buchholz was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 234 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Buchholz now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Eastside, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Buchholz will head out to face off against Manatee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Eastside, they will venture away from home to challenge Trinity Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
