Basketball Recap: Premont Takes a Loss

Premont lost against Agua Dulce back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Premont Cowboys had to suffer through a 53-18 loss at the hands of the Agua Dulce Longhorns. The Cowboys were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-6.

Premont's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-6. As for Agua Dulce, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Premont will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Freer at 6:16 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Agua Dulce also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against La Villa at 11:00 a.m. on January 3, 2025. Agua Dulce's defense has only allowed 27.1 points per game this season, so La Villa's offense will have their work cut out for them.
