Stanwood came tearing into Wednesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 46.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks 63-15. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Tomahawks are ranked 353rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Stanwood pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points per game.
