Softball Recap: Sterling Heights Stevenson Takes a Loss

Sterling Heights Stevenson extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 25 on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 0-21 in the process. They lost 20-0 to Warren Woods-Tower. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sterling Heights Stevenson of the 12-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Warren Woods-Tower, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-13. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Warren Woods-Tower's part, Aislinn Lipar made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Lipar has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Adrianna Strunk was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Jackie Asmar was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

While Sterling Heights Stevenson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
