Basketball Recap: Cypress Creek Comes Up Short

Cypress Creek was the 41-28 winner over Cy-Fair when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cypress Creek Cougars opened the new year with a less-than-successful 50-42 loss to the Cy-Fair Bobcats. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while the Bobcats are ranked 762nd).

Cypress Creek has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. As for Cy-Fair, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cypress Creek will welcome Northbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cy-Fair, they will host Cypress Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cypress Falls has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 202 points over their last three contests.
