Basketball Recap: Delran Takes a Loss

Delran played a tough matchup on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 75-43 loss at the hands of the Northern Burlington Greyhounds. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-26.

Northern Burlington's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karina Harrison, who posted 19 points and six assists. Those 19 points gave Harrison a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jillian Watson, who put up 15 points in addition to six boards and six steals.

Delran's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Northern Burlington, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delran will venture away from home to square off against Medford Tech at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Delran is facing Medford Tech at the right time seeing as Medford Tech is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Northern Burlington, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pennsauken at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
