Kirtland kept up with Rootstown until halftime on Tuesday, but afterwards: not so much. The Rovers put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 4-1 win. Considering Rootstown have won four games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Kirtland with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Zach Pastor (2), Bryson Scarlett, and Landon Rodstrom.

The victory was the third in a row for Rootstown, bringing their record up to 5-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those three matchups. As for Kirtland, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rootstown will welcome Cuyahoga Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kirtland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Geauga at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
