Hughson won the last time they faced Hilmar and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hughson Huskies came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hilmar Yellowjackets, sneaking past 3-1. That's two games straight that the Huskies have won by exactly two runs.

Kylie Tangney made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Tangney was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Summer Leshko, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Hughson pushed their record up to 8-4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Hilmar, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hughson will venture away from home to face off against Escalon at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Hughson has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Hilmar, they will face off against Livingston at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
