Baseball Recap: Vacaville Has No Trouble Against Sacramento

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Benicia, Vacaville was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Sacramento Dragons as Vacaville made off with a 13-0 victory. That 13 run margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Sacramento's batters probably weren't too happy with Jaiden Oldwin, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (he gave up zero walks). That's the fewest walks Oldwin has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rome Griego, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peyton Olds, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Vacaville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Vacaville's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Sacramento, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Vacaville will have a chance to go back-to-back against Sacramento: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
