Baseball Recap: Tri-Valley Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Tri-Valley waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Crooksville Ceramics as they made off with a 13-3 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Scotties, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Oliver Lanning looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tri-Valley got a massive performance out of Ryan Lamonica, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. Lamonica also scored two runs, which is notable because the Scotties are 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Better, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Tri-Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .595 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Tri-Valley's record now sits at 9-7. As for Crooksville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Tri-Valley will venture away from home to square off against Utica at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Crooksville, they will welcome Maysville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
