Football Recap: Landon Cooper and Damon Martin Lead the Defense for Poland Win

Lisbon came into Friday's game looking for another win against Poland, but Damon Martin wouldn't allow it. The Knights claimed a resounding 55-0 win over the Greyhounds thanks in part to Martin, who rushed for 149 yards and three scores on only six carries, and also threw for 65 yards and a pair of TDs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 107.8 rushing yards per game.

Poland didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Landon Cooper and Martin. Martin has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory made it two in a row for Poland and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 15 points in those games. As for Lisbon, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Poland will take on Westbrook at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lisbon, they will head out to take on Freeport at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
