Recap: Riley County Falcons vs. Holcomb Longhorns

The Riley County Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Holcomb by a score of 30-28. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Riley County has scored all season.

Holcomb got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brooklyn Deniston out in front who scored 11 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Deniston has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Isabella Galliart, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.

Riley County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Holcomb, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Riley County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Eureka on January 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Eureka is ranked 86th, while Riley County is ranked 108th). Holcomb won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hesston at 2:30 p.m. on January 19th. Hesston has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
