Soccer Recap: Montgomery Central Takes a Loss

Montgomery Central lost against Oak Grove back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Timberwolves came up short against the Grizzlies, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Montgomery Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 324th, while Oak Grove are ranked 113th).

Montgomery Central has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11-1 record this season. As for Oak Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Montgomery Central is set to face off against their familiar foe Asheboro at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Oak Grove will square off against rival Central Davidson at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
