Basketball Recap: Liberal Skates Past Dodge City with Ease

Liberal won the last time they faced Dodge City and things went their way on Thursday too. The Liberal Redskins simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Dodge City Demons 56-23. The Redskins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 26 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Liberal to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zoey Torres, who posted ten points and five steals. That's the most steals Torres has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Maliyah Mullens, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 11 points and six boards.

Liberal's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points over those games. As for Dodge City, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.

Coming up, Liberal will face off against Haysville Campus at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Liberal is facing Haysville Campus at the right time seeing as Haysville Campus is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. Dodge City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
