Volleyball Recap: Deseret Peak Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Deseret Peak came into Thursday's match having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Stansbury Stallions on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in September.

While Deseret Peak might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Stansbury scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-21, 16-25, 25-21.

Leading Deseret Peak to victory were Camaira Sacre and Amelia Cannon. Sacre had 20 digs and five assists, while Cannon had 14 digs and two aces. Cannon is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Deseret Peak picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-19. As for Stansbury, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.

Coincidentally, Deseret Peak and Stansbury will both be playing Tooele the next time they take the court. The Stallions will host the Buffaloes at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Golden Eagles will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
