After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Centennial, Youngker was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the La Joya Community Fighting Lobos, sneaking past 19-17. The victory continues a trend for the Roughriders in their matchups with the Fighting Lobos: they've now won four in a row.

Audrina Torres was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alondra Rosario Gonzalez, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Torres wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Youngker kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. Youngker is 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Youngker picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-6. As for La Joya Community, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8.

Coming up, Youngker will head out to take on Buckeye at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for La Joya Community, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Glendale at 4:15 p.m.
