Football Recap: Novato Hornets vs. Piner Prospectors
A win for Novato just wasn't in the cards on Saturday as the team wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They had to suffer through a 36-6 loss at the hands of the Piner Prospectors. The defeat continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Prospectors: they've now lost five in a row.
Jaden Hernandez was his usual excellent self, picking up 182 receiving yards and two touchdowns for Piner. Apollo Pereira also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Novato's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4. As for Piner, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
