Soccer Game Preview: Salinas vs. Alisal

The Salinas Cowboys will take on the Alisal Trojans in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Salinas took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Santa Cruz a 10-0 shutout. It was an even better day for Morgan Retterer as she scored three goals for her team.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, Alisal made sure to put some goals up on the board against King City on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Mustangs as they made off with a 5-0 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Trojans as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Salinas' win bumped their record up to 3-1-1. As for Alisal, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Salinas took their win against Alisal in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 4-1. Will Salinas repeat their success, or does Alisal have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
