It was a good run, but Effingham unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 47-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Anthony Bulldogs. The Hearts were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 59-41.

Effingham's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for St. Anthony, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Effingham and St. Anthony should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Effingham (ranked 59th) will meet Charleston (ranked 595th) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
