Basketball Game Preview: Calhoun Red Devils vs. St. Marys Blue Devils

The Calhoun Red Devils and the St. Marys Blue Devils will round out the year against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Calhoun is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Parkersburg Catholic on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Red Devils were dealt a 100-44 defeat at the hands of the Crusaders. The Red Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-20.

Meanwhile, St. Marys was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through an 87-53 loss at the hands of Tyler. On the bright side, the 53- point effort marked the Blue Devils' highest-scoring game to date.

Calhoun's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for St. Marys, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Calhoun took a serious blow against St. Marys in their previous matchup back in February, falling 81-46. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Red Devils were down 42-22.
