Football Recap: Dayven Mosbacker and David Garcia Diaz Secure Win for Bryan

Bryan and Benson pushed the score to 54-7 the last time they played Benson, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Bears walked away with a 14-6 win over the Bunnies. That's more bragging rights for the Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to David Garcia Diaz and Dayven Mosbacker. Garcia Diaz rushed for 88 yards and one touchdown while Mosbacker rushed for 83 yards on only seven carries. Mosbacker was even better on defense, making six total tackles (3.0 for loss) and defending two passes.

Bryan was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 262 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Bryan's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Benson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Bryan and Benson could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings. The Bears (ranked 126th) will meet Lincoln East (ranked 42nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Benson will take on Lincoln Southeast at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (128 vs. 44).
