Basketball Recap: Sun Valley Starts Season with Win Against Gray Stone Day + How To Watch

Sun Valley had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Gray Stone Day Knights 55-26 on Tuesday. The team accrued 41 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.

Sun Valley can attribute much of their success to Jy'Ceon Patterson, who posted seven points along with six steals and five assists. Another player making a difference was Jayden Jeffery, who had eight points.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Sun Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gray Stone Day only posted six.

Despite the loss, Gray Stone Day still got an impressive performance from Colt Greer, who shot 71% from the field en route to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Gray Stone Day dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Sun Valley has already played their next matchup, a 67-55 loss against Parkwood on the 19th. As for Gray Stone Day, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-50 defeat against West Stanly on the 24th.
