Big matchups this week will help shape the loaded AAAAAAA state bracket.
This week's high school football schedule in Georgia is headlined by games that could decide seeding in the loaded AAAAAAA state bracket.
State No. 10
Grayson (Loganville) heads to No. 17
Parkview (Lilburn) in a battle of 7-2 squads that have plenty of offensive firepower.
Parkview senior quarterback
Jaiden Jenkins has three passing touchdowns and five rushing scores in the past two weeks while five-star senior Tennessee commit
Mike Matthews is averaging more than 20 yards a catch.
Grayson averages more than 40 points per game and can score quickly on the ground or through the air.
Elijah Miller,
Dylan Elder and
Amari Alston have combined to rush for more than 1,200 rushing yards on 6.7 yards per carry. Senior quarterback
Jeff Davis can also use his legs, having rushed for five touchdowns, to go with 25 passing scores.
Walton (Marietta) is currently projected as the No. 2 seed in the bracket and the Raiders will take their undefeated 9-0 record into
Wheeler (Marietta, Ga.), a squad they have beaten 12 straight times. However, this is a different Wheeler squad. Led offensively by junior running back
Josiah Allen, the Wildcats have won seven games for the first time since 2006.
Another big matchup includes 8-1
Lambert (Suwanee) at
Milton, a 7-2 squad ranked No. 21 in the state. The Milton defense has recorded three shutouts in its last four games while the offense put up 110 total points in that trio of games. Lambert can hang points on the scoreboard with near ease, tallying up at least 40 points in five games, including 49 last week in a win at South Forsyth.
