            Softball Recap: Ansonia Tigers vs. Bradford Railroaders        
        
		
        
        
            Ansonia owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Saturday. They came out on top against the Bradford Railroaders by a score of  4-0. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Railroaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive  victory against them.
The result came thanks to  Bre Walker's shutout, as she gave up just three  hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, Ansonia let  Lillian Perry and  Shyann McKenna run wild. Perry  went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases, one  double,  and one  RBI, while  McKenna  went 1-for-3 with one  home run. That's the most  stolen bases  Perry has posted since back in April.  Ava Thatcher was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with one  run and one  RBI.
 Ansonia was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .391. They are 8-2 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The  win  got Ansonia back to even at 10-10. As for Bradford, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record  this season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ansonia will venture away from home to  challenge National Trail  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Bradford, they will head out to  take on Milton-Union  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
