Baseball Recap: Shelby County Falls Short of Marbury in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Shelby County can now relate to. They fell 10-6 to the Marbury Bulldogs on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-1 on Friday.

AJ Pickett made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Shelby County's defeat dropped their record down to 19-14. As for Marbury, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 22 of their last 25 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-6 record this season.

While Shelby County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
