Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Meleah Shirley and Emily Herndon Lead Riverheads to Victory + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Riverheads, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Waynesboro Little Giants on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Gladiators: when they faced off against the Little Giants back in September, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

The victory didn't come easy: Waynesboro scored at least 22 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 26-24, 19-25, 25-22.

Riverheads was led to victory by Emily Herndon and Meleah Shirley. Herndon had 14 digs and two assists, while Shirley had 19 kills and 17 digs. Shirley is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Riverheads' record is now 6-13. As for Waynesboro, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Riverheads wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Alleghany on the 30th. As for Waynesboro, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Fort Defiance on the 30th.
