Football Recap: South Sumter Has No Trouble Against Belleview

The South Sumter Raiders made easy work of the Belleview Rattlers on Friday and carried off a 41-21 victory. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won three contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Timothy Gaynor produced another solid performance rushing for 193 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries.

Gaynor was just one part of a punishing run game: South Sumter was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 301 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

South Sumter pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.7 points over those games. As for Belleview, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Sumter will venture away from home to face off against North Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will need to watch out since the Colts have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matches. As for Belleview, they will head out to challenge The Villages Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buffalo's defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so the Rattlers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
