Baseball Recap: Wallace-Rose Hill Takes a Loss

After flying high against James Kenan last Thursday, Wallace-Rose Hill came back down to earth. The Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs fell 9-6 to the North Lenoir Hawks on Tuesday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Caden Gavin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Khalil Mathis was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Wallace-Rose Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for North Lenoir, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Looking ahead, Wallace-Rose Hill will be playing in front of their home fans against East Duplin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North Lenoir, they will venture away from home to face off against Midway at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
