Softball Recap: Burlington-Edison Tigers vs. Squalicum Storm
Burlington-Edison entered their tilt with Squalicum with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Squalicum Storm 23-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Burlington-Edison also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.
Zoe Zimmerman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (she also didn't allow any walks). Zimmerman was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Peyton Locke was incredible, going 3-for-3 with a home run, six RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Samantha Hundahl, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
The victory got Burlington-Edison back to even at 3-3. As for Squalicum, they haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burlington-Edison will take on Granite Falls at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Squalicum, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Mt. Baker at 6:30 p.m.
