It was fun while it lasted, but Negaunee's undefeated season came to an end after 22 games on Friday. They fell just short of the Gladstone Braves by a score of 50-47. The loss put an end to the Miners' undefeated start to the season.

Lillie Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Gladstone, shooting 4-for-6 from deep and dropping a double-double with 28 points and 14 boards. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least a third of Gladstone's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eva Pankonien, who posted seven points and six rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Negaunee fell to 22-1. As for Gladstone, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-2.

Negaunee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gladstone, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-36 victory against Sault Area on the 10th.
