Volleyball Recap: Fort Atkinson Takes a Loss

Fort Atkinson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sheboygan North Golden Raiders.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Sheboygan North scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17.

Sheboygan North was led to victory by Ephrem Kachur and Miles Koene. Kachur had 18 assists and five digs, while Koene had five digs and two assists. Kachur has been hot for a while, having posted 14 or more assists the last ten times he's played.

Fort Atkinson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Sheboygan North, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Fort Atkinson and Sheboygan North will both be playing Kaukauna the next time they take the court. The Golden Raiders will host the Galloping Ghosts at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Blackhawks will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
