Thompson had won three straight home games and Charlie Yon did his part to make it four on Friday. The Tommies had just enough and edged out the Grafton Spoilers 14-12 with plenty of help from Yon, who rushed for 105 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He has become a key player for Thompson: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Thompson's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Grafton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Thompson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 26-0 loss against Carrington on the 16th. As for Grafton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-0 defeat against Langdon/Edmore/Munich on the 17th.
