Football Recap: West Columbus Takes a Loss + How To Watch

The West Columbus Vikings ended up a good deal behind the Hobbton Wildcats on Friday and lost 42-28. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, West Columbus still got an impressive performance from DJ Graham, who rushed for 57 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 244 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per attempt. 91 of those passing yards were hauled in by Santonio Vereen.

Hobbton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reginald Thompson, who rushed for 226 yards and four TDs while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Thompson is now averaging an impressive 110.9 rushing yards per game. Another player making a difference was Amir Tate, who gained 277 total yards and a touchdown.

West Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Hobbton, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

West Columbus has already played their next matchup, a 48-14 win against Green Sea Floyds on the 24th. As for Hobbton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 20-7 victory against Lakewood on the 24th.
