Basketball Recap: Chaparral Comes Up Short

Chaparral played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 82-28 loss at the hands of the Highlands Ranch Falcons. The contest marked the Wolverines' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Chaparral lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Maddie Jenkins, who posted ten points and four steals. Jenkins has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jade Monroe, who earned eight points.

Highlands Ranch's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addie Moon, who went 7 for 11 en route to 20 points and five boards. Jayda Rogers was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Chaparral and nudges their season record down to 9-6. As for Highlands Ranch, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Chaparral wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 53-41 defeat against Rock Canyon on the 24th. As for Highlands Ranch, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 76-23 victory against Douglas County on the 24th.
