Volleyball Game Preview: Downey Vikings vs. Los Alamitos Griffins

The Downey Vikings will head out to take on the Los Alamitos Griffins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Downey earned a 3-1 win over La Serna.

Downey was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-19, 22-25, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Los Alamitos made easy work of Warren on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Griffins.

The win didn't come easy: Warren scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-23, 25-19.

Downey's record now sits at 4-5. As for Los Alamitos, their record is now 12-3.

Downey came up short against Los Alamitos in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 2-0. Can Downey avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
