Baseball Game Preview: Ilwaco Fishermen vs. Naselle Comets

Ilwaco is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Naselle is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Fishermen will host the Comets at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Ten must be Ilwaco's lucky number: they beat Forks with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Fishermen didn't even let the Spartans on the board, marking the Fishermen's second-straight 10-0 shutout. The Fishermen haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Naselle got themselves on the board against Oakville on Monday, but Oakville never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Acorns. That's two games straight that the Comets have won by exactly ten runs.

Ilwaco's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Naselle, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

Ilwaco beat Naselle 5-1 in their previous matchup on April 3rd. Will the Fishermen repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
