Basketball Recap: Ontario Christian Comes Up Short

Ontario Christian lost against Linfield Christian back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Ontario Christian Knights fell 56-46 to the Linfield Christian Lions. While the Knights didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lions 15-5 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Ontario Christian still got an impressive performance from Cole Jones, who went 9 of 18 to rack up 26 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Jones has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last 12 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zander Lewis, who posted eight points and six boards.

Even though they lost, Ontario Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in six consecutive matchups.

Linfield Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Daniel Crawford led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Julius Brower, who went 7 for 10 on his way to 18 points.

Ontario Christian's record now sits at 15-13. As for Linfield Christian, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-12.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Ontario Christian will venture away from home to square off against Esperanza at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Esperanza is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.1 points per game this season. As for Linfield Christian, they will welcome Sunny Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Linfield Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
