Volleyball Recap: Sacred Heart Comes Up Short

Sacred Heart was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Bishop LeBlond Eagles, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Irish of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Sacred Heart was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-17, 25-14.

Hallie Jones paced Sacred Heart's offense, picking up seven kills. Jones got some help from Daycee Witt and her 12 assists.

Sacred Heart's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Bishop LeBlond, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Sacred Heart has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Southern on the 6th. As for Bishop LeBlond, they will square off against Maryville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
