Basketball Recap: Center Comes Up Short

Center lost against Mira Loma back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Center Cougars lost 72-49 to the Mira Loma Matadors. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Center lost, don't look at Andy McLear. Despite the final result, he posted 22 points. The match was McLear's eighth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tima Makovey, who put up ten points and three steals.

Center's loss dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Mira Loma, their win bumped their record up to 13-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Center will welcome Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Center is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.3 points per game this season. As for Mira Loma, they will be playing at home against Oakmont at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Oakmont knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Mira Loma likes a good challenge.
