Softball Recap: Hamburg Comes Up Short

Hamburg fell victim to Monticello and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 16-0 to the Billies. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Billies: they've now lost six in a row.

S Herrera was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season.

Hamburg's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Monticello, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hamburg is set to take on their familiar foe Crossett at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Monticello will face off against rival Watson Chapel at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
