Softball Recap: Donna Takes a Loss

Donna extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 3-19-1 in the process. They lost 12-0 to the Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 back in March.

Donna saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Briana Jimenez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

As for Edcouch-Elsa, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 15-8. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.

On Edcouch-Elsa's side, Melody Soto was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave Soto a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ali Loredo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Donna has already played their next contest (against Lopez), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Edcouch-Elsa also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Porter.
