Basketball Recap: Calvary Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Calvary couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 58-57 to the West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] Cougars. The Saints' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luke Blackford, who shot 57% from the field en route to 18 points and seven boards. Blackford's evening made it 25 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Antione Hunter, who went 6-for-15 to rack up 18 points.

Calvary's loss dropped their record down to 23-11. As for West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs], they pushed their record up to 27-7 with the victory, which was their 25th straight at home dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Calvary nor West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] have any future games scheduled.
