Basketball Preview: Wayne Trace Raiders vs. Continental Pirates
Wayne Trace is 7-0 against the Pirates since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Wayne Trace Raiders will be staying on the road to face off against the Continental Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Wayne Trace was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 49-43 to the Wildcats.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Continental, who are still winless after their 18th game. They were beaten by Paulding 54-14 on Saturday. Continental was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-8.
Wayne Trace's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7. As for Continental, they dropped their record down to 0-18 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.
Wayne Trace beat the Pirates 35-23 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wayne Trace since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
