Baseball Recap: Regents Takes a Loss

After flying high against Faith Christian Academy last Monday, Regents came back down to earth. The Lions lost 16-6 to the Charlottesville Black Knights on Thursday.

Joseph Porter was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. David Shonka was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Regents' defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Charlottesville, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Regents wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 8-3 victory against Roanoke Valley Christian on the 1st. As for Charlottesville, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fluvanna County at 7:00 p.m. on the 8th. The Flying Flucos will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Black Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
