Basketball Recap: Pine Ridge Skates Past Tiospa Zina with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pine Ridge). They breezed by the Tiospa Zina Wambdi to the tune of 100-23 on Wednesday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 57-9.

Pine Ridge was led to victory by Marvin Richard Lll and Anthony Steele. Richard Lll went 18 of 26 on his way to 43 points in addition to five assists and four steals, while Steele dropped a triple-double on 14 points, 12 assists, and 11 steals. Richard Lll's morning made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Bissonette, who made all 6 shots he took to post 12 points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Pine Ridge was working as a unit and finished the game with 31 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Pine Ridge pushed their record up to 2-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 42.5 points. As for Tiospa Zina, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Pine Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 94-64 win against St. Francis Indian on the 19th. As for Tiospa Zina, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-29 defeat against White River on the 19th.
